Purpose Statement

Acts 2:42 could be considered a purpose statement for the church:

“They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”

According to this verse, the purposes of every church should be:

  1. Teaching biblical doctrine,
  2. Providing a place of fellowship for believers,
  3. Observing the Lord’s supper, and
  4. Praying

We also would add reaching the World for Christ as commanded by Jesus.

All Churches have the same purpose, but it’s their vision that defines how they look in accomplishing that vision.

The Vision God has given FCC is based on the Great Commandment:

“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”  Matt 26: 36-40

And the Great Commission:

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.

And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”  Matt 28:19-20
