Our World

First Christian Church is actively involved in missions work around the world. This includes Indonesia, Thailand, China, Spain, and our own community. Through the support of full-time missionaries, short-term mission trips, and educational programs, we at First Christian Church are trying to carry the love of Christ to those who have not heard the Good News of the Gospel while also working to mobilize our congregation in the global and local missions movement.

Our Community

Our local community based missions projects include an outreach to the community at West Newlove. We have built a ministry center that engages the local population in teaching them English as a second language, mechanic skills, computer skills, as well as offering many kids club programs.

Community Watch 2010

Get involved in the Santa Maria community.  Community Watch 2010 is an effort to bring together the churches within Santa Maria to reach out into our community and make a difference.  It invovles three strategies:

1. Concert of Prayer - on the 1st Sunday of each month in 2010 churches will gather together individually and pray for our community
2. Service Projects - on the same 1st Sunday of each month, there will be a service project coordinated by the City of Santa Maria where all involved churches will come together and work on this project
3. Community Watch - on a daily basis we need to be the eyes and ears for our local Police Department.  We encourage people to report activities that are suspicious or criminal in an effort to make Santa Maria a better place to live
